Michael Gilliam, President and CEO – Quality Home Health Care Services of Michigan
Quality Home Health Care Services of Michigan (QHHC) is a Metro Detroit home health care agency serving Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties and is headed by industry veteran Michael Gilliam. Since founding the agency in 2001, Gilliam has remained steadfast in his commitment to serving as a trusted, go-to source for in-home medical care. Under his leadership, the company has been consistently ranked in the top five percent of home health care agencies nationwide.
QHHC’s solid position among hundreds of competitors is largely contributed to Gilliam’s nearly 30 years in the industry. His resume consists of various health care related positions, including roles as Executive Director of Manor Medical Clinics; Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Corporate Development with Cape Health Plan; and Executive Director of United Home Care Physicians. In addition, Gilliam also serves on several boards, including Detroit East Community Mental Health. He also is pursuing a graduate certificate through Wayne State University’s prestigious Institute of Gerontology. The extensive knowledge and expertise acquired via these roles and continuing education experiences has led to the establishment and growth of QHHC, Gilliam’s proudest achievement to date.
“I wanted to create the area’s best resource for comprehensive home health care by founding QHHC,” said Gilliam. “The progress we’ve made in serving Detroit’s population as they find their way to health and wellness has been overwhelming.”
Among Gilliam’s goals is to remain committed to community outreach initiatives, a mission that has led to the provision of free health screenings across the city of Detroit. These free screenings, which include those monitoring hypertension, cholesterol and blood sugar, allow those who have had difficulty in securing and accessing health services an outlet for taking charge of their health.
In addition to free health screenings, Gilliam has organized many educational events to provide information to older adults, their families and caregivers, addressing topics like Alzheimer’s disease and nutrition.
“I strive to not only be a leader within my company but also within my community,” said Gilliam. “I have been committed to leadership in the healthcare industry for the past 30 years and will continue that commitment for many years to come.”
